Infosys Acquires MRE Consulting to Deepen E/CTRM Capabilities

Infosys has signed a definitive agreement to acquire MRE Consulting, a Houston-based business and technology consulting firm with strong expertise in Energy and Commodity Trading and Risk Management (E/CTRM). The deal signals Infosys’ continued focus on building deeper capabilities in key verticals like energy and utilities, as global corporations navigate complex transitions around energy sourcing, trading, and regulatory demands.

MRE brings to Infosys a team of more than 200 professionals with consulting and technology expertise rooted in commodity trading. With a portfolio of proprietary E/CTRM business process frameworks and a track record of working across diverse commodities and business models, MRE strengthens Infosys’ offerings in trading platform design, implementation, and vendor selection. These capabilities are expected to help Infosys accelerate delivery for clients across traditional and renewable energy markets.

In addition to E/CTRM, MRE extends Infosys’ reach into complementary areas such as cloud infrastructure, customer engagement, field service optimization, and digital workplace transformation. The firm’s alignment with Microsoft and Salesforce further supports Infosys' efforts to offer end-to-end digital solutions.

The acquisition is slated to close in the first quarter of Infosys’ fiscal year 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions. Once complete, MRE is expected to play a central role in supporting Infosys’ energy-focused transformation initiatives globally.
