Fujitsu is restructuring its network business with the launch of a new wholly owned subsidiary, 1FINITY Inc., set to begin operations on July 1, 2025. The new company will consolidate Fujitsu’s photonics and mobile systems operations to strengthen its position in the global network infrastructure market and enhance agility in decision-making. The functions related to the development, manufacturing, sales, design and construction support, maintenance, and operation of network hardware—primarily optical transmission systems and O-RAN compliant 5G base stations—along with associated software (such as the Virtuora series) and 6G research activities, will be integrated under 1FINITY.

The move aligns with Fujitsu’s Medium-Term Management Plan, which focuses on business model transformation and sustainable growth through 2025. By transferring core operations—including R&D, manufacturing, sales, and support of network equipment and software—into 1FINITY, Fujitsu aims to accelerate product development, streamline operations, and position itself for growth in next-generation areas like AI data centers and 6G.

1FINITY will also integrate four Fujitsu Group companies, allowing the new entity to operate more cohesively across network domains. While the companies will maintain their current offerings, their integration into 1FINITY supports unified innovation efforts across hardware and software systems.

The new company will pursue three strategic priorities: expanding its international footprint, improving competitiveness through high-capacity optical and vRAN technologies, and exploring new opportunities in AI-powered network operations and advanced communication systems. Headquartered in Kawasaki, Japan, 1FINITY will launch with approximately 1,800 direct employees and 4,600 total when including group companies.
