Channel Brief: ServiceNow Buys Moveworks to Bolster AI Portfolio

IT operations management firm ServiceNow is making its biggest-ever acquisition; ServiceNow will acquire Moveworks for $2.85 billion in a mix of cash and stock, according to Reuters.

ServiceNow said it expects the deal to close in the second half of 2025. Bloomberg reported the deal late on Sunday night.

According to TechCrunch, Moveworks emerged from stealth in 2019. Its app helps enterprise customers automate high-level IT support and has since expanded its products to various lines of business, including HR, finance, and facilities management.

Prior to the acquisition, Moveworks raised just over $300 million from backers, including Tiger Global, Iconiq Growth, and Kleiner Perkins. It has more than 500 employees. ServiceNow and Moveworks already have several mutual customers, and the two companies’ product offerings are tightly integrated. With Moveworks, ServiceNow's platform can combine ServiceNow’s agentic AI and automation with Moveworks’ AI assistant and enterprise search technology, according to company executives.
