Datapipe has acquired Adapt, a UK-based managed cloud services provider and Advanced AWS Consulting Partner. The acquisition expands Datapipe’s European presence as part of the company's broader global strategy.Datapipe's buyout of Adapt comes at an opportunity time. Many IT service providers are seeking localized expertise in Europe amid recent developments like Brexit (Britain's exit from the European Union) and the new EU-US Privacy Shield agreement.Meanwhile, UK-based businesses are rapidly adopting cloud services, but they need help in such areas including cloud management and cost controls. Indeed, nearly 90 percent of UK businesses now leverage cloud services, but they are struggling to achieve cost benefits, according to an Adapt research report released in December.Clearly, Datapipe and Adapt plan to jointly address those UK customer needs. Adapt specializes in four areas: Managed cloud services, security and compliance, infrastructure and network, and enablement/transformation services.Rackspace invested in Cloud Technology Partners in April 2016 for that company's AWS skills earlier this year. Claranet acquired Bashton for its AWS and DevOps skills in February 2016. Bulletproof acquired CloudHouse for AWS cloud consulting skills in February 2016.
